Let Your Cross be Mine
Lord, you are my life:
Fill my heart with desire –
Shape my will, Lord, as you design
Place the thorns upon my brow,
Let your Cross become my own.
Place the thorns upon my brow,
Let your Cross become my own.
As you lead me on,
And my soul follows you,
Tune my spirit to sing your song:
To your kingdom I belong –
Lay my life before your throne!
To your kingdom I belong –
Lay my life before your throne!
Lord, you are my life –
Let your Cross be mine.

beautiful..thank you ..did you write it?
That's an awesome picture. Where is it?
BEV: Yes, I wrote this text and music as part of a hymn piece setting that has been used for Taizé worship. The setting is in response to my favourite prayer from Jesus, found in John 17.
R-LIZ: This is one of many pictures of the Angel of the North, a most enduring and striking sculpture! It is a phenomenal sight to behold from many vistas on the way to Gateshead, Tyneside (North Britain). You can see it on the A1 or by train on the east coast. There is another stunning view of the Angel in a sea of rapeseed that I posted on 3 Sept 2005 ('The widesness in God's mercy').
Here's some more fun info:

Wow! You don't really get a sense of how huge the sculpture is until you see the pictures taken from a distance. That is might impressive!
hey..went to that sight..pretty cool..
Deb-- I couldn't find an e-mail address on your site, so thought I'd pass a message to you through here. Is it okay if I have a link to your blog page from mine? I've loved going back through your various blog entries-- such depth and food for thought. If it's not okay, that's fine, too. (And there are folks who link to me who I don't necessarily reciprocate with, so don't feel like you have to with me.)
BEV: Glad you liked the site ... thanks for checking it out!
R-LIZ: Sure, I'm honoured! Thanks always for your kind comments, and insights.
